Antje Joins the World Wellbeing Panel as an Expert

25 October 2024

We are excited to announce that Antje has joined the World Wellbeing Panel (WWP) as an expert! The WWP is dedicated to promoting well-being as the ultimate purpose of all major decision-makers, particularly in government.

The WWP engages an international panel of experts by posing questions relevant to well-being policy. Responses are personal assessments attributed individually, fostering debates about the impacts of policy decisions on well-being. This collaborative approach aims to lead to better policies and more informed decision-making over time.

The survey process begins with a curated list of questions suggested by our experts, policymakers, and journalists. These questions undergo vetting for language and suitability before being sent out to 40-50 international experts. Panelists can express their agreement or disagreement with the questions and provide brief explanations for their responses. The results are then compiled by a WWP member and disseminated among journalists, politicians, and others on the dissemination list.

Since its launch in 2016 as part of the Wellbeing Program at the LSE Center for Economic Performance (CEP), the panel has been a platform for meaningful dialogue on well-being policy. Initially directed by Paul Frijters, the leadership transitioned to Ada Ferrer-i-Carbonell (IAE-CSIC and BSE) in 2020, and most recently to Chris Barrington-Leigh (McGill) in 2023.

Antjeā€™s expertise and insights will be invaluable in advancing the panel's mission. We look forward to the contributions she will make in fostering discussions around well-being policy.
