Arbnora Shala presents a scientific poster during the 22nd ISQOLS Conference, Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
10 July 2024
Our colleague Arbnora Shala had the pleasure to present her research poster titled "Exploring Immobility Patterns of Rural Populations: Empirical Evidence from South East Europe" during the recently concluded ISQOLS Annual Conference that took place from 25-28 June 2024, in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Constituting her doctoral project, the study offers valuable insights into why people choose to stay in rural areas of Southeast Europe, with a key emphasis on investigating aspects like quality of life, place attachment and migration culture. Her poster contribution was co-authored with Antje Jantsch and Arjola Arapi-Gjini, and she is super grateful for this collaboration. Arbnora is thankful to all conference participants for their valuable feedback and to ISQOLS for providing the opportunity to exchange ideas through such events. She remarks that she is particularly grateful for the opportunity from ISQOLS to exchange ideas with leading scholars in the field and gain new perspectives on her work. She further extends her sincere gratitude to IAMO for the support in facilitating her participation at the conference. The event marked a significant milestone in her academic journey, serving as an "ice-breaking" opportunity for her to connect with peers and, at the same time, senior researchers in the field.
